Mail order Review... Secret weapon and Dragonforge

OK well  I am not the first to review these companies but I recently made an order and thought I would share my experience....

First off Is Jeff from Dragon Forge. I ordered the Urban Rubble Wasteland Set from Him. I had my Usual Great experience with him and as always I will order again from him in the future. I have been dealing with Jeff for a couple of years now and have NEVER been disappointed. This set will be my bases for my Red Scorpion marine force I am building. I am painting them (or will be!!) in the Angstrom Incident Pursuit Squads Camo and these will match the industrial rubble wasteland imagery. Here are some pics for this set:

And Secondly is Justin from Secret Weapon. I ordered the Blasted Wetlands "all your base" set for my Catachans. This was my first order with Justin but I was treated like a long time customer and had a very good experience. Secret Weapon has a great selection and I plan to order more of Justins products. I got this set as I wanted something different for my Catachans as the bases I had for them was not really what I was wanting. These are well sculpted and interesting and what I like most id the ability to make the "unique" despite being all the same. I make them unique by the additions to them like water and brush/weeds. Very cool. Anyway Here is some examples of Justins bases:

Well more when I get some work Done and till then..... Serve the Emperor Well!!

OK I have been sidetracked... but I got an excuse!!!

And this is it.... I have been working some overtime and preparing for Gencon. Im getting a group of 4 guys incuding myself to go to gencon again this year and thats really taking alot of my time.

My hobbies have suffered as a result BUT I am proud to announce that I have my Cossacks from Neal (Warstore) for FOW and I am looking to get them going soon. I also have purchased Bases From Justin (Secret Weapon Minis) and Jeff (Dragonforge) to redo my Catahcans in a swamp base (blasted wetlands from Justin) and my Red Scorpions (Urban Rubble Wasteland  from Jeff) and will be doing them soon also.

I also have my Vacuum chamber and pot set up ready to make my "Monachus Marines". These are a chapter of Monkey marine Named by a mod of an Old forum I was on called "Terra 40K". Monachus is Latin for monkey and it sounded cool so I adopted the name he tagged me with. Fast forward 8 Years and I finally got my SH*T in order to actually produce them, and the start of 6th ED is a great time to do these guys. Im using broken apart AT-43 Karmans (another Army I have!!) for the heads and legs, as well as Bolters. Im going to use regular GW torsos and Black Templar arms (because of the chains on them!!) to make them more "standard marine-y" Here is a pic of the base models used for the heads Legs and Bolters:
after pulling them apart and dipping in Acetone (VERY CAREFULLY!!) to remove the paint that was on these (they are prepainted minis) I got busy with Green stuff and now have these to cast:

I like how the feet have the oppseable toes and thats why Iam using them. pluss it adds more bulk to the marines and looks silly without more "weight" at the bottom:

And the Inspiration for this???? Nachomon on Deviant Arts FAMOUS Gorilla astartes

Ok well thats a wrap up of whats going down.... Look for more later but until then Serve the Emperor well....
