Post Gencon coma... I am ALIVE!!!! PART 2

OK PART 2!!!

This is the project interest post.... there was just too much to put into one post so I had to break it up.

First up KICKSTARTER...
Ok well I am new to this Kickstarter fad.... but it seems a cool way to raise money. Im watching some of them Like Dreamforge GamesSecond chance Reaper Bones. and Bombshell Babes... I wish I had more money to do it though. I could see how this could empty my Wallet VERY FAST....lol. You can search for different projects and even projects local to you. Check them out sometime!!

Second up.... METALHEAD MINIS....

Metalhead Minis is a company that is owned by my good friend the AWESOME Lyn Stahl. I touched on it in my last post but her website has some of her commission paints and other award winning minis. I am not sure how her commission works but feel free to contact her if your in need of some awesome minis. Anyway I was talking with her while at gencon and doing some catching up and I mentioned that I was doing some Resin casting and other projects and she asked to get some of my bases for some of HER projects!!! Well I returned home and my Masters were kinda not worthy so I am making several new Base sets  for this and will have some if anyone is wanting. I will elaborate later. But to wrap this up Lyn is helping me take my painting to the highest level I can so i can compete in the painting comp next year at gencon. How awesome is it to have a Award winning painter who is also one of the coolest chicks you know help you with painting projects???? I think its pretty damn cool....;) Heres a video from Reapercon this year on youtube about Lyn..

And finally Munkey Joes upcoming projects.....
As I mentioned Im doing some Bases. I play Warmachine and GW games (40k and Fantasy) so my base lines will be compatible with those systems. While I will not be making millions of these bases if anyone is interested in them Shoot me an email and Im sure I could get enough for you to do an army. Im not going to compete with AWESOME companies like Secret Weapon or Dragonforge but these will be little one off  projects for some people to have custom bases for their armies. My line will have the following type of Bases:
Lava style
Trenchboard style
Cracking mud/parched earth style
Puddle/hazard puddles style
Cobblestone style
If your interested keep a eye on the blog and I will post pictures of them as i make my masters and cast. If your interested in a special set I have not listed Contact me and I will try to help you develop something cool.

Im also doing some terrain, specifically WW2 looking 15mm and 28 mm. This is in infant stages but if you have done some or are interested in some hit me up. Im interested in hearing from people who use these scales or are familiar with Flames of war terrain and Dust warfare terrain.

Finally Im working on some painting and such. I am wrapping up some of my commissions and will be starting some new projects soon....I have some vehicles and war engines on my plate now but look for some busts and other projects in the near future......

Well thats about it, so until next time Serve the Emperor well......
Munkey!!

Post Gencon coma... I am ALIVE!!!! PART 1

Hey everyone!! I am FINALLY caught up from Gencon and can tell the story. August was extremely busy for me but I will try to catch everyone up.

First things First.....GENCON!!!
Well Gencon was an AMAZING 4 days and this year was very successful for me. My crew and I drove from Here (Frederick MD) all the way to Indianapolis and we spent a whirlwind 4 days before driving back.  While there I had an open schedule so i could hang out with Friends and acquaintances I never get to see. While there I was able to talk and hang with some of my Hobby Heroes Like Painter Tom Schladel, Secret Weapons Justin McCoy, Several Lone Wolf Developers, and My good friends Rudi, Val, and Lyn. We had a ton of fun and was always doing something. This year had less swag as I had expected But overall it was fun. Since I had a open schedule I linked up with my friend and pro Painter Lyn Stahl and we worked at the MHE paint and take table for a few hours. I actually LOVE working there as I like helping new hobbyists learn new skills. While working Lyn told me about several of her new projects and what she has been doing for the past year..... Stop by and check her stuff out!! Lyn Stahl- Metalhead minis

Second up is my Finished projects and current wargame projects....
I finished a terrain piece for my local FLGS that has been sitting all broken and neglected for about a year now. I took it home and put it back together and repainted it. it was a peice that was purchased on ebay and was cast from plaster out of Hirst Arts molds. it looked nice but was put together with hotglue..... Really. so it just fell to pieces once it was used. I superglued all the joints and reinforced every brick with superglue by flowing glue into the cracks..... 12 tubes of waterthin glue later it was stable..... LOL after then I primed it with Rust colored primer so it would have some warmth of color and started airbrush. I added some warmer colors to add interest to the tables (cityfight terrain usually suffers from the GREYS..... no other colors) Anyway Here is some pics of the Chapel:

I also am starting a commision paint of a Brass scorpion made from defilers.... This is an interesting conversion and I cant wait to have some fun with it. I have a very liberal instructions and really am only limited by the colors I can use as it needs to match the customers army. Here is the scorpion broken down ready to begin....
And after thats done I will begin on my Khorne Warhound..... this will augment my Bloodpact IG army.
I will talk about some of my upcoming projects in a followup post as this is getting large BUT its time for that part most wanted......... the Large PHOTO DUMP!!!!
